Our concierge – at your service
As Norway’s only member of the Leading Hotels of the World organization, our main concern is making sure that our guests have everything they want and need. Our concierge service has up-to-the-minute information about what’s on in Oslo and will be happy to recommend restaurants, attractions and things to do. Whatever you need help with – the practical details of ordering flowers, reserving a table, booking transport or ordering tickets – our concierges will do their utmost to provide you with the very best service.
All our concierges are members of the international concierge association Les Clefs dÓr. Founded in 1929, this association has 3,000 members in more than 50 countries.
Admission to the association requires many years’ hard work and dedication, and there are only 13 members of this prestigious professional association in Norway. Professional pride is a hallmark of Hotel Continental, guaranteeing our guests a truly five-star stay.
Hotel Continental is more than happy to help guests plan and arrange transport to and from the hotel. We can organize private transport, on request.
We have a collaborative agreement with Oslo Limousinservice, which offers bespoke services for an extra comfortable trip. Experienced, discreet chauffeurs with good language skills will pick you up and drive you directly to the hotel or airport. Contact Hotel Continental for reservation or further information.
Parking during your stay
We have good car parking facilities in our garage for guests who bring their car with them to the hotel. We will be happy to valet your car for you during your stay.
Hotel Continental offers one of Oslo’s finest valeting services, including complete cleaning (inside & out) and polish. Please note that parking and valeting must be ordered beforehand. Please order well in advance, as these services are highly popular with our guests.
Fitness and wellbeing
To meet our guests’ needs for exercise and wellbeing during their stay, Hotel Continental has state-of-the art fitness facilities on the fifth floor.
The facilities are open to all our overnight guests free of charge. The gym has a good range of modern exercise machines. We also have an agreement with a spa centre nearby.
Shopping in central Oslo
Oslo has excellent shopping opportunities. Many of Oslo’s top-end shops and shopping centres, such as Eger, Steen & Strøm, Glasmagasinet, House of Oslo and Paléet are within easy walking distance of Hotel Continental.
In addition to the various shops and department stores, Oslo also has two lively shopping streets: the central pedestrian street Karl Johans gate is home to all the major chains, while the more upmarket Bogstadveien is home to many designer boutiques.
The quayside development Aker Brygge, which is now one of Oslo’s most popular attractions, is a short walk from Hotel Continental. The area offers many attractions in a car-free zone, including 65 shops and eateries. The former docks have received much attention internationally and have won several prizes and awards, including the much-coveted international Difa Award for Europe's best quarter. More than 6 million people visit Aker Brygge each year.
The Grünerløkka quarter of Oslo has grown into a dynamic, multicultural area. It is home to numerous small galleries and exhibitions, designer shops, bookshops, and many cafés and restaurants serving exotic food from around the world.
Vulkan is called "the little town in the city" and the area is a mixture of cultural and creative businesses such as schools, hotels, Oslo’s first food hall, restaurants and interesting residents. It is the diversity and composition of the various participants that makes Vulkan an exciting neighbourhood.
Sandvika, some 15 kilometres south of Oslo, has Scandinavia’s largest shopping centre, in terms of number of shops. More than one kilometre long, the mall has an impressive variety of goods in 180 shops ranging from exclusive designer outlets to major chain stores.
